Red Point

I have forgotten many of the routes I have climbed, but she is always portrayed in my memory. 

Just like her name "the Power of Love", to face her, you need not only skill, energy and strategy, but also fearless, perseverance and heart-to-heart communication with her. 

Ascent

A classic High Bouldering route at BaiHe river! The rock is vertical, smooth and high, she looks and climbs super scary! But has a gentle route name, Miss Dong. It winds up along a stone platform that is only a few millimeters wide, and the hand holds of the last section is extremely far away. It's hard, it's very scary, but it's super cool!

Ascent

This is a route that makes me cry, make me laugh, make me despair, and make me full of fighting spirit to complete my self-challenge. This is a route that I will never forget! In particular, thanks my father, no matter what difficulties I am in, I have his company! No matter what breakthrough moment I am in, I always have his encouragement and "COME ON"!

In rock climbing, Project refers to a route that has not yet been ascended. First Ascent (FA) refers to the first time to ascend a Project. Traditionally, Climber can name the Project of its FA, and from then on, the route will have its own real name. After three days of trying, I FA Project1 in Baihe Secret Garden on June 13, 2020. Project1 is also the first route of my FA.

Each of us has a dream, the realization of the dream is not easy, even very difficult, just like Project1. Every inch of rock can defeat you, make you fall, make you hurt. But each fall inspires my fighting spirit and causes me to reflect more deeply. Every improvement and even sudden inspiration in constant reflection makes me feel that I am getting closer to my dream of success, even if it is so small. FA Project1, complete one of my dreams, I named it The Start of Dreams, it is not the end of my dream, it will be the starting point for me to realize my bigger dreams.

I like to challenge Project, like to challenge unfinished problems. Without the reference of previous climbing movements, FA is more like a whispered conversation between me and rock, more like an exploration of the unknown world.

Climbing is not a sport of pure strength or a dare-devil way of courting death… 

It's all about solving problems! The wall poses challenges—both physical and mental—to the climber, and it is ultimately the climber’s task to “read” and “decipher” the problem (to calculate the perfect “beta,” in climbing jargon) to find the best solution to the top. It’s like solving a math problem in many ways!

Climbing is endlessly creative. Nobody in the climbing sphere considers plagiarism as a serious problem—no two climbers are the same, so naturally, no two climbers share the perfect beta. Just like how different people approach a math problem differently, climbers are naturally led to solutions unique to their physique, strength, and style. You don’t need to be skinny to climb well; you just need to be different.

And, of course, climbing is beautiful to watch! It used to be called “ballet on rock,” but now, with its addition to Olympic Games, climbing has also swiftly adopted a Parkour character. It is a sport in constant metamorphosis…  I can’t wait to find out what the future holds!

There are many climbing gyms in Tokyo, because it is relatively close to my high school, Fish and Bird is the longest climbing gym I went to. 
I like the routes, the super-high-level and handsome curators here!

RenRen climbing is a very characteris-tic GYM in Beijing. Founder of RR is a rock climbing couple. Both are excell-ent climbers in China. Coach YingZi is a big sister I love and admire. 

They are aimed at and provide a wea-lth of training courses for climbing beginners. Perhaps because they have a very lovely daughter, they focus more on young rock climbers and parent-child rock climbing. 

"Heroes come out of youth!" They are passionately dedicated to the future of rock climbing!

Trainning anywhere 

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many climbing gyms in my city have had to suspend operations. I had a sudden idea, so my father and I designed and built my own climbing wall in the basement of our home, using wood and stainless steel as the main materials.

The wall design makes full use of the original large bookshelf in the basement, which is bolted to the bookshelf, and the angle of the climbing wall can be adjusted by adjusting the position of the bolt on the bookshelf!

The bookshelf is also a part of the climbing wall. Some of the small pieces of wood I cut and sanded were installed on the bookshelf, and they instantly became super cool climbing holds!

Ha ha! You see, you can start from the bike parked on the right, through some small wooden holds on the bookshelf, through the vertical partitions, and then the volumes on wooden plank, all the way to the left, until you end up with the word TOP in chalk on the ceiling! That is super COOL! This little wall gives me a lot of unusual and amazing routes.

This "big plank" with six "steel claws" has always followed me, whether in my home in Japan, in China, in an isolation hotel, or in sport climbing arenas. It is my super hang-board that my father and I made to travel with me.

My super hang-board allows me to do special training in climbing anywhere. Just like Alex Honnold in the movie FREE SOLO.

My father and I designed and made a wooden plate with accurate size. I carved my name "Rockfish" on it! Use stainless steel buckles that are not used at home to secure the wooden plate so that it can be hung by these six steel buckles on the top of the door. Then attach the Beastmaker2000 to this wooden plate. In this way, my super hang-board can be removed at any time and hung on any door!

Red Point

KANG is a unique and challenging outdoor climbing route that was created in 2020. She is such a rare route that is very comprehen-sive, unimaginable, rich in action, and full of challenge and fun. 

If you've seen Alex's FREE SOLO, there are also cracks in KANG that tighten your core to the limit, eaves that challenge your skills, SLAB that scares you and absolutely needs to trust your feet, caves that make you happy and challenge your climbing intelligence, and downward DYNO that you rarely see on outdoor routes. And the most challenging thing for you is to get close to the penultimate step of TOP, the super far HOLD that tests your power when you are already close to exhaustion. Her difficulties are evenly distributed, her curve is very beautiful, and she makes you need to come up with all your climbing skills. 

I like the way she inspires me! The shout of the penultimate step was not to conquer, but she led me to release my heart, ignited the passion in my heart, stimulate the fighting desire to challenge m'yself.

I enjoyed the "conversation" with KANG so much, every moment when my fingertips came into contact with her, every movement and breath that depicted her graceful curve with climbing moves, and the rhythm of coherence that was always full of change like a symphony. 

Thanks to my father for belay me, from the deep of my heart, I am super happy to be accompanied by my father in the process of enjoying such a beautiful and unique route of climbing.
